A church-wide visioning retreat was held on November 10th with over 70 people in attendance. Our goal was to move forward in discerning God’s will for our church. We were blessed to have Jeff Woods with us as the leader. He has taught classes on church leadership at the Methodist Theological School in Ohio, and is the author of several books including, “Better Than Success: 8 Principles of Faithful Leadership”. Dr Woods has experience in leading visioning retreats throughout the United States, and we felt very fortunate to have been able to have him facilitate our retreat.
Members of the congregation are encouragedto obtain a copy of our guide book, to and learn about making decisions based on spiritual discernment of the question: "God, Is this your will?" The book is: "Discerning God's Will Together" by Danny Morris & Charles Olsen. It is readily obtainable through Amazon.com (Our church receives a rebate if you use this link or the Amazon link on our church website homepage). The new price is only $12.00, and good used books are available in the $5.00 range.
