Thanks! All of us involved in the Re-Member program to assist the Lakota Nation want to thank the congregation for its outstanding support of the Sunday, April 27 Lunch for the Lakota and Bake Sale. Food donations for and purchases from the bake sale, participation in the lunch, and the outright financial contributions all helped make the event a major financial success. Once again you have demonstrated the generous nature of our church. When we are at Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota this summer, we will be proud to make it clear that for every person on the trip, there are numerous West Side members back home who provide continuing support for the project.
The 21 members of the volunteer mission team that headed to the Pine Ridge reservation this summer to work with Re-Member would like to extend our heartfelt thanks for everyone's support of our trip and this mission. As a covenant church with Re-Member, we are in a long-term relationship to support their ongoing work at Pine Ridge, and are pleased to announce that we had a phenomenal year in this regard!
Between the multiple bake sales, valentine's gift basket sales and the gala silent auction event, West Side was able to raise over $12,000 for Re-member (above and beyond paying for the expenses of our trip), and that was a direct result of the generosity of the members of this congregation.
