The February Communion offering is designated to support Human Relations Day. Your offering strengthens United Methodist outreach to communities, encouraging social justice and work with at-risk youth. Some ex-amples of recipients of Human Relations Day donations:
A community developer at a Florida UMC directs a ministry for school-age children and youth where the "primary focus is to help the kids see Jesus and to help them grow developmentally and spiritually."
A community developer at an Arkansas UMC oversees 12 ministries providing day care, after-school activities, gang intervention, job training, substance-abuse treatment, affordable/supportive housing and more.
A program in Delaware offers guidance and a caring community for at-risk women ages 12 to 17, focusing on life skills such as improving school performance, find a job, managing time and money, resolving conflict and setting goals.
