Once again the people of West Side have the opportunity to help Liberians through the Detroit Annual Conference container project. Through the months of April and May, you will notice three large plastic tubs in the hallway of the church near the coat racks. These tubs are there for collecting each of three different kits that you may contribute –
school, health, and sewing. Each kit you assemble should be placed in a one gallon plastic bag.
The health kit calls for items such as a tube of tooth paste, a bar of soap, a wash cloth. A school kit contains ruler, eraser, crayons, and similar items. In a sewing kit, you would place fabric, thread, buttons, and like materials.
Complete lists of items for the kits will be available near the plastic tubs. Our tubs (filled to brimming, we hope!) will be taken to Annual Conference and from there shipped with tubs from all over the Conference to Liberia.
Making kits can be a family project or a good activity for small groups, such as youth or Christian Home. Consider participating –
it is a small, but significant, way to act on the message of Christ!
