As part of our expanding Hunger Ministry, West Side provides volunteers to help serve dinner the third Tuesday and fourth Thursday of each month at the Food Gatherers Community Kitchen. The kitchen, located in the Robert J. Delonis Center in Downtown Ann Arbor, provides breakfast for shelter guests and lunch and dinner for anyone in need.
Volunteering at the Community Kitchen is a rewarding activity. The dinner shift involves serving and clean-up and runs about 2 hours, starting at 5 pm. The kitchen is run by the experienced and friendly staff of Food Gatherers. All necessary training is provided “on the job.” Volunteers need to be 14 or older.
