Our programs reflect our mission: to be the minds through which Christ thinks, to be the hearts through which Christ loves, and to be the hands through which Christ works.
Mission Statement
The mission of West Side United Methodist Church is to bring glory to God through
honor and service to our Lord, Jesus Christ.
Vision Statement
West Side United Methodist Church is a Christ-centered community, dedicated
to honoring and serving Jesus Christ through obedience to the Great Commandment
(Matthew 22:37-40) and the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20).
Outreach Programs
Our church holds true to the Wesley tradition of “the world is our parish.” Our
members actively participate in Habitat for Humanity house building;
Alpha House, which is the Interfaith Hospitality Network
Shelter; Volunteers
in Mission, which is traveling overseas to support mission programs
around the world; and
the Annual Crop Walk for hunger; just to name a few. Special projects
provide help for needs such as nursing home and shut-in
worship and visitation,
Care
and Share food gathering and UMCOR programs on a worldwide scale. Our
church supports missionaries Helen Sheperd and John
and Kendra Enright.
