The Computer Learning Center (Room 112) is a regular part of the Sunday Morning experience for children age 1st grade through High School. It is also used for adult classes and special projects.
The center was established to explore the Bible in an up to date and exciting way. The purpose is to create a teaching style, which represents current times, and use the technology which is familiar to our children and youth. The Computer Learning Center offers the teachers a current tool to use and inspires this generation of children and youth to bring the Bible into their everyday lives.
The Computer Learning Center has 7 Gateway 500 SE computers, each with a 1.8 Ghz processor, 20 GB hard drive and 256 MB RAM. The center is networked and on-line, and an adult is in the room whenever the center is in use.
West Side United Methodist Church utilizes software to make a reasonable effort to minimize exposure to content that is potentially offensive. Everyone with access to the computers must read and fill out a Computer learning center consent and waiver form, (The form is an Adobe pdf file, which requires the Acrobat Reader, available to download free from Adobe.)
