The tasks of outreach were divided into subcategories and committee members volunteered to oversee the following categories:
Community: Sally Lamkin and Jordan Lubetkin
Missions: Margie Portice
Social Justice: David Constantine and Kristen Kovak
Other outreach duties that were discussed include: Communication (between outreach and congregation), Cropwalk, monitoring UMCOR website
The committee will consider using Cokesbury communion envelopes in the future to be more efficient.
A discussion took place of having some communion offerings designated as general Ministry Jubilee (MJ), rather than specific selections from MJ.
Habitat for Humanity: A contribution of $5500 has funded Habitat for this year. Rick Campeau the new liason between Outreach and Habitat.
Sally has been doing work for the bell ringing and almost $900 was collected last year.
Washtenaw Literacy: Space in the building has been arranged for them to do tutoring. Sally Lamkin will follow through to let them know that it’s approved.
Liberian Sister Church Covenant: A monetary contribution was approved and committee discussed the possibility of other further involvement.
The committee needs to discuss how to fund our contribution for the Liberian Sister Church.
